U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Amherst College in 1899, Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, in 1905 and was a member of the faculty of Attleboro High School, (1899-1900). During World War I, he served as regimental surgeon in the 214th Engineers, 14th Division, U.S. Army, (1918-19). After the war, he was practicing physician in Old Greenwich, Connecticut and a member of the Connecticut State House of Representatives, (1917-19, 21-23). In 1939, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth Congress, serving until 1941. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed his medical interests until his death at age 64.
