Mr. George Womack, age 75, a lifelong resident of Mitchell County, died Wednesday morning in a Lubbock hospital. A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Friday in the First United Methodist Church with Royce Clay and Rev. James Edwards officiating.
Mr. Womack was born April 22, 1931 in Mitchell County to Elbert and Ada Reasor Womack. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a 48 year employee of the City National Bank and retiring in 1996 as Executive Vice President and Cashier. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and very active in the Colorado City Playhouse.
Survivors include a nephew, Richy Womack of Colorado City; 2 nieces: Sharon Elliott of Houston and Vickie Long of Midland and a sister-in-law, Sue Womack of Colorado City.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Margaret Abbott, a brother, Kent Womack and a nephew, Tracy Womack.
