Mrs. Sophia Buchanan, 88, widow of Robert Buchanan, of 7 Franklin St., died Monday night at St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Huntington, Mass., Sept. 25, 1865.
She was a resident of this city for many years and she was a member of St. Bernard's Church and the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association.
She leaves two sons, Edward L. Buchanan of Rockville, and Robert L. Buchanan of Elmwood; a daughter, Mrs. Fred Gerber of Manchester; a sister, Mrs. George Brown of Hartford; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from the Burke Funeral Home, and at 9 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church.
Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. The funeral home will open Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
