Services for Cindy Perry, 59, Lancaster, will be held Thursday, June 16, 2011, 11:00 AM at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Garrett and Rev. Don Hatton will officiate. Burial will follow in Pigeon Fork Church Cemetery, Waddy.
Cindy passed away Saturday at Bradford Square. A native of Waddy, she was the daughter of the late P.T and Lela Powers Perry.
Cindy was a 1969 graduate of Shelby County High School, a spring of 1973 graduate of the University of the Cumberlands and later received her Masters Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She began teaching in Garrard County in the fall of 1973. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Beta Chapter, Society for Women Educators and was current secretary of her chapter. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lancaster. Cindy loved music and shared that love to all students. She was cheerleading coach for several years and loved "her girls". Three things most special in her life were God, her students and her family.
Survivors include her sister, Paula Mitchell (Steve) and her beloved niece, Lydia Mitchell, Waddy; an uncle, Herman Perry (Peggy), Bagdad; an aunt, Lillian Powers, Frankfort; a host of friends and generations of students.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Lacefield, Bill Harrington, Chip Perry, Jordan Johnson, Herman Perry and Jeff Young.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 5pm – 8pm, Garrard County Middle School and Wednesday, 2pm-8pm, LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home, Frankfort.
