Sarepta Fly

This cemetery commemorates the Plum Creek Massacre of August 8, 1864. The massacre was part of a concerted attack by the Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians that ranged from Julesburg, Colorado to the valley of the Little Blue River in Nebraska. Unfortunately, the cemetery itself was constructed in error; the mass grave from the Plum Creek Massacre is actually 1.5 miles to the East. This headstone was moved here when found nearby; Sarepta herself was not among those massacred.
