Sherri was a graduate of Corsicana High School, Class of 1986. She and her husband, Don Lane, were married 23 years with two wonderful children, Alysa and Garrett Lane, with whom she cherished. She was baptized on November 22nd, 1992 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Although she lost her battle with breast cancer, she never lost hope that she would live forever in a paradise on earth that Jehovah has promised through his reigning king Jesus Christ where there would be no more sickness, sorrow or pain.
She was preceded in death by father Theo and mother Peggy McCluney, sister-in-law Leslie McCluney all of Corsicana. Also father-in-law, Jim Lane from Wortham.
Survivors include husband, Don Lane, local business man of Corsicana, children Alysa and Garrett all from Arlington, sister, Terry Quinlan and husband Steve also from Arlington, Texas, brothers Marshall and wife Nikki and Michael McCluney all from Corsicana. Also including Dub and Connie Fielden, father and mother in law, Jim and Lisa Lane from McKinney, Darren and Pam Lane of Kerens, brother in laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sherri was a person that everybody loved to be around. She was fun, exciting and brightened up every room she walked in. Although she died at a young age she lived life to the fullest. Her famous quote was, you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. Everyone that knew her will miss her deeply by the way she touched their life.
Memorial will be Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Andre Johns officiating. Memorial will be followed by graveside services at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: R.K. Fisher, Hillsboro, Texas, Jeff Radekin, Hillsboro, Texas, Billy Williams, Itasca, Texas, Rick Massey, Hillsboro, Texas, Ben Perkins, Whitney, Texas, Charles Williams, Arlington, Texas. Honorary pallbearers are: Neely Minchew, Fairfield, Texas, Lisa Jock, Corsicana, Texas, Lori Graves, Roane, Texas and Lorie Hines, Corsicana.
