U.S. Congressman. He attended Sue Bennett Memorial College, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1902 and commenced to practice law in London, Kentucky. Moving to California, in 1910, he engaged in banking, practiced of law and was City Attorney of Glendale, (1911-21). In 1927, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventieth Congress and to the next three succeeding Congresses, serving until 1935. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law, was in real estate development and ranching until his death at 81.
