Selma was my grandmother. Her mother Hulda Pauline Tretbar Sternadel was born in Germay and her father Carl Herman Jentsch was born in Germany. They came to America aboard a ship. Hulda and Herman settled in Archer City, Texas where their children were born. Selma met and married William Anthony Sternadel. They had five children, Eli, Will, Dorothy, Helen, and Mildred. Although Selma and "Will" were divorced in the 1960's when
he got sick and went into a Wichita Falls nursing home, Selma walked twelve blocks every day to comfort him and stayed with him a few hours each day. And then she would walk back to her residence at 1906 Kemp Street in Wichita Falls. She did this until "Will" passed away in 1977. She loved making quilts and made quilts for all the family. Her quilts are still cherished to this day.
