MARQUETTE, Bradley O. Booker, 72, of Marquette died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at home.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Doug McHargue officiating.

Mr. Booker was born on Jan. 4, 1936, at Hastings to Robert Lee and Opal (Lamphear) Booker.

Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Darlene Janet 'DJ;' a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Karen Booker of Aberdeen, S.D.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy and Alan Mischke of Kearney and Candi Jennings of Houston; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Deanna and Steve Allen and Wilma and Marion Carlson.

Additional survivors include five grandchildren, Scott and Cory Booker, Deborah Conner, Lauren and John Mischke; in-laws, Gilbert and Mabel Hinkle; brothers-in-law, Dennis and Betti Hinkle and Rob and Jera Hinkle, Wally Hopp and Charles Baker; sister-in-law, Janelle and David Udey; and many special nephews and nieces.

He grew up in Hastings and when he was 17 years old he was the supervisor for the cutting department at Modo Day. Brad then graduated from Hastings High School in 1953. After high school, he married Darlene Nielsen and to this union were born three children. He worked for Boeing Aircraft, working on the B-52, in Seattle. They moved back to Nebraska, where he worked as a draftsman for Hastings Industries and was also a loan officer for a loan company in Hastings. In 1973, he married Darlene Janet Hinkle. They made their home in Loveland, Colo., and then Marquette.

Brad enjoyed music, reading, trains, planes, caring for the family, and cats. His greatest love was for his wife, children and grandchildren.

Bradley was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Opal Booker; his two sisters, Winifred Baker and Seva Hopp; three brothers, Orme, Hubert, and Thurman Booker; and a daughter-in-law, Kim Booker.
