Lillian Elvina Libby, 92, former resident of Barnsdall, died Saturday at Independence, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday in the Ethel Reece Cemetery in Barnsdall. Graveside services and interment will be under the direction of the Stumpff Barnsdall Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mrs. Libby may do so to: American Cancer Society P.O. Box 1094 Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74005.
Lillian Elvina Libby was born December 2, 1918 at Sallisaw, Oklahoma to James and Pearl (Brown) Clapp. She was raised and received her education in Sallisaw. She was married to Orville Arthur Libby on August 1, 1940 at Sayre, Oklahoma. Mrs. Libby had lived in Barnsdall since the early 1930's. After they were married they traveled extensively while Mr. Libby worked in the oil pipeline business. Mrs. Libby was employed at the Barnsdall Flower Shop for several years and also worked at a convenience store in Pawhuska.
Survivors include; one son James Libby of Edmond, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Libby A. Hamilton of Independence, Kansas, Dake Shreffler of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, Tonya Libby of Bartlesville, Tom Libby of Barnsdall, Kerry Housley and Sheri Libby of Edmond; eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Libby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1982, one daughter Sandra Shreffler and one son Tom Libby.
