Virgil Lee Hardman, 83 was welcomed into Heaven on June 12, following several years of declining health. He passed away at his home in Fruitland, Id. Born December 13, 1924 in Walkersville, WV, he was the son of the late Earl and Lena Hardman. He spent his childhood in Falls Mill, WV and attended Burnsville High School before joining the navy in 1942. He served during WW II until 1946. On January 5, 1946 he married Dorothy Curtis of San Jose, CA.
Surviving in addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, is his son, Ed Hardman and wife Janice of Fernwood, ID, five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. His brother Gerald Hardman, Akron, OH and sisters, Opal Felton of Falling Waters, WV and Eileen Thibaut of Wooster, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews survive also. His son Jerry, and daughter Linda preceded him in death. His sisters, Lola Marsh and Athleen Frazier and brothers, Bill Hardman and Ves Hardman also preceded him in death.
Lee Hardman was a general contractor in Susanville, CA for many years and a minister for the Assembly of God Churches. He was known for his strong faith and tremendous sense of humor. A memorial service is planned for 11 am on Monday June 23, at the Highway Worship Center in Fruitland under the direction of the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel in Payette.
