FRANKTON - Clarence Henry Ashton, 81, Frankton, died Thursday at Manor Care Nursing Home in Anderson.
Born May 28, 1922, in Madison County, he was the son of Jacob and Gladys (Huntsinger) Ashton.
He married Clara Wable on Dec. 2, 1974, and she survives.
A graduate of Anderson High School, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from General Motors and from farming.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Frankton.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Clarence "Bud" Ashton of Frankton; a daughter, Paula D. Painter of Frankton; three stepdaughters, Melody Mallernee and Luanna Remley of Anderson and Carol McLaughlin of Alexandria; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton by the Rev. Michael Heath. Burial will be in K of P & IOOF Cemetery in Frankton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. A Masonic service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
