GOODWINS MILLS – Mrs. Mary Frances Beal, 74, wife of Perley Beal of Huff Road, died Wednesday at Saco nursing home after a long illness.
She was a native of Stonington, born December 10, 1901, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivory Magadis, and had resided here the past 19 years.
Mrs. Beal was a member of the Goodwins Mills Baptist Church. She was formerly employed in the manufacture of silverware in Newburyport, Mass.
Mrs. Beal is survived by her husband, a son, Joseph P. Beal of Biddeford; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Beverly) Hackett of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Gilbert (Mildred) Taylor of Robbinson and Mrs. Eleanor Philbrick of Saco; a brother, Charles Magadis of New York City; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Services were conducted Saturday morning at the Heald Funeral Home, 61 Main Street., Springvale, by the Rev. Chandler M. Holmes of North Waterboro. Spring interment is to be in Riverside Cemetery, Springvale.
