Rachel Easton Cross was born March 2, 1910 in Perkins, Missouri to John and Louise (Young) Brown. Her siblings include a sister, Marie Carpenter of Dexter, Missouri; brothers, Floyd Brown of East Prairie, Missouri and Lloyd William Brown of Glenn Carbon
She married Oscar Easton. He died January 10, 1963. She later married Fred Cross. He died in 1984. Her children include Elsie Steele and Kathy Bratton, both of Murphysboro and Bob Easton of Gorham. Also surviving is a foster daughter, Mary Varner of Murphysboro.
Mr. Cross was a homemaker and a member of Christ Community Church. She died at the age of 87 in Jackson County Nursing Home.
