Daniel Abbott

FALLBROOK - Daniel T. Abbott, a retired maintenance foreman at the Naval Weapons Station in Fallbrook, died March 7 at his home. He was 60.
Mr. Abbott was born in Rockland, Wis., and had lived in Fallbrook for 45 years. He was a member of the Fallbrook Gem and Mineral Society, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1924, and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Chapter No. 455.
Mr. Abbott also served with the U. S. Marine Corps as a corporal in the Pacific Islands in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie R. Abbott of Fallbrook; son Daniel T. Abbott Jr. , of Lake Elsinore; daughter Margaret R. Tordoff of Lake Elsinore; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by his mother, Gladys Abbott of Cataract, Wis.; brothers Phillip, Robert, Paul, Nelson and Dwight, all of Cataract, John, Howard and David, all of Sparta, Wis., and Joseph of DeSota, Wis.; sisters Mildred Young of Black River Falls, Wis., and Ellen Flood of Corona.
Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fallbrook United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Scharar officiating. Interment with full military honors at the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Abbott's name to the Fallbrook United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
