Keith D. Hayes, 66, of Rockford, IL and formerly of Rickardsville and Dubuque, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 in Rockford.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rickardsville, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. Raymond Burkle will officiate. Friends may greet the family from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Hoffmann-Schneider-Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Rd., Dubuque, where there will be a prayer service held.
Keith was born in Dubuque, the son of Joseph and Delores Hayes. Keith married Donna Barton in Rickardsville, Iowa on July 18, 1970. He retired in 2001 after working at Chrysler for 35 years. Keith was an avid golfer and had worked part time at Swan Hills Golf Course in Rockford. He loved woodworking, gardening and Euchre. He enjoyed having his morning coffee with his fellow retired friends at the mall. Keith was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Rockford, and the UAW.
Keith is lovingly survived by his wife, Donna; sister-in-law, Germaine Hayes of East Dubuque, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gerald and Merlin; his sisters, Donna Rezac, Joyce Burton; and his twin sister, Kay Ann Hayes.
