He was the son of Robert T. and Christine A. (Taylor) Dawson. On Dec 19,1959, he married Patricia Ann "Patsy" Garrett, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters: Christi Ann (Paul) Salchak, Waynesville, and Cherie Lea (Tom) Smith, Celina; a sister, Luella Kocielko, Elkhart, IN; and six grandchildren.
He was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina. He was a retired School Teacher of 34 years and a Principal for 7 years at the Franklin School, Montezuma. He was a coach with the Challenger League in Celina.
Funeral services will be at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina, with Rev. Matt Reynolds officiating.
