Earnest Thompson
Pitikin – Services for Earnest Thompson will be at 2pm Friday in Occupy No. 1 Baptist Church with the Revs. James Johnson and Brian Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Occupy No. 1 Cemetery under direction of Rush, Oakdale.
Thompson, 87, of Pitkin died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1996, in Oakdale Community Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Pitkin and member of Occupy No. 1 Baptist Church. He retired from Calcasieu Paper Company with 32 years of service.
Survivors include two sons, Wade Thompson of West Monroe and Reeves Gene Thompson of Boyce; four daughters, Opal T. Hines, Oleane T. Singletary, Belva Sue Ryan and Carolyn B. Melder, all of Pitkin; one brother, Ed Thompson of Glenmora; one sister, Lillie Mae Ashmore of Tioga; 25 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Friedns may call from 11 am today until time of service Friday in the church.
