"MRS MARION WHITTAKER
Mrs. Mary Peery Whittaker, 84, of 4433 Roanoke parkway, died at her home this morning. Mrs. Whittaker was born in Alvarado, Tex., and had lived here 60 years. She was the author of many poems published in The Star. She was the daughter of the Rev. John T. Peery, a founder of the Old Mission Methodist church.

Mrs. Whittaker was an honorary life member of the Oklahoma Historical society. She was a member of the Kansas City Quill club, and the National League of American Pen Women. She was also a past member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Mrs Whittaker leaves her husband, Marion O. Whittaker of the home; two daughters, Miss Virginia Whittaker of the home,and Mrs. Jack R. Miller Denver, a son Gordon P. Whittaker, 2917 West Seventy-second, Prairie Village, and four grandchildren.

Private services will be at 9:30 o'clock Monday at the Muehlebach chapel, burial in Forest Hill cemetery."
