PIONEER MIAMIAN TAKEN BY DEATH
During the past week a figure long-prominent in public life, J. C. Baile, for many years Chairman of the Baker's Haulover District, died. In the pioneer days in Dade County, Mr.Baile was a county commissionor. He later assumed chairmanship of the special tax district, and it was under his supervision for a canal for small boats was built from the Atlantic Ocean to Biscayne Bay north of Miami Beach. The canal, first intended to secure a greater circulation of fresh water for sanitary reasons, has resulted in a haven for fresh water fisherman.
