John Kermit “Red” Blackburn

Funeral services were held in the New Hope Temple Saturday for Taft resident John K. "Red" Blackburn, 59. Burial was in the West Side Cemetery.

Mr. Blackburn was born October 13, 1933 in LaRue, Arkansas, and passed away at his home in Taft on Wednesday November 25, 1992.

He served his country during the Korean conflict as a member of the U.S. Army.

He moved to the Taft area in 1955. He retired from National Fluid Packed Pump after 30 years of service. After his retirement he worked for S & D Supply Company.

Mr. Blackburn was an active member of the New Hope Temple.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Jean Blackburn, in 1960 and his father, Roy Blackburn, in 1972. His survivors include his wife, two sons, his mother, four grandchildren, a brother, and two sisters.

The services were under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
