She was born February 13, 1921, in Provo, the daughter of Frederick Benjamin and Angelina Coop Jarman Critchlow. She married Herbert Hamilton Frost on August 25, 1948, in the Salt Lake Temple. She received a B.A. degree from Brigham Young University and attended Northwestern University. She taught English and journalism at Farrer Junior High School in Provo for five years, where her student newspapers won national awards. She continued teaching for five years at Washington Junior High School in Rexburg, Idaho. She has lived in Orem since 1960. The majority of her life was spent raising and caring for her family and giving her life in church service. She held various positions in the LDS Church including Relief Society president, Primary president, stake Young Women's president, and Relief Society teacher. She and her husband served in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission. She always enjoyed reading, handwork, music, family history, traveling, and being with family members. She was a member of Xi Beta and Paideia Sorosis women's clubs.
She is survived by her children: JC, MB, SO, HCF, and FCF. She is also survived by one sister, Margaret Weight, Springville. She leaves 14 grandchildren. Her husband and parents preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Mon. April 9, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the Sharon 3rd Ward, 445 South 700 East, Orem. A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 8, from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. A viewing will be held Mon. before the services from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Herbert H. and Elinor C. Frost Wildlife Management Scholarship Fund, c/o Monte L. Bean Life Sciences Museum, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, 84602.
