Elizabeth was the daughter of John Thorne (about 1643-1709) and Mary Pearsall Thorne (about 1649-1709). She was one of 9 children, born in 1664 or 1673 in Flushing, Queens Co. or New Rochelle, Westchester Co., New York.

In 1692 she was joined in marriage to Anthony Badgley (1660-1715). She MAY have also been married to a man with the last name Hendley, and to a Frederick Schuerman **.

Elizabeth & Anthony were the parents of: George 1688-?, George Anthony, Sr. 1693-1759 whose memorial is #35700607, Anthony 1695-1732, Phebe 1696-1715, Sarah 1696-1785, Cornelius 1697-?, Phoebe 1698-1776, James 1699-1777, John 1700-1759, Sarah 1700-1785, and Elizabeth "Betsey" 1702-1733.

Her burial location is currently unknown,
but she may be buried next to her
husband, in a family cemetery on private
property in Bidwell, Gallia County, Ohio.

Details provided in the book "Schuremans of New York", Compiled by Richard Wynkoop, The Knickerbocker Press, New York, 1903, provides details of marriage of Elizabeth Thorne, daughter of John Thorn and his wife Mary (Pearsall). This document states that John Thorn of Flushing, Queens, in his Will dated January 5, 1697, proved July 23, 1709, mentions his wife Mary, and, among other children, Elizabeth Schuerman.

This book also provides evidence that for the return of their minister, dated June 1, 1743, addressed to the Episcopal Society of the Propagation of the Gospel, is Affixed Frederick Schuerman's mark that they have four children:

Margret, aged 18 in 1710
Susanna, aged 15, 1in 1710
Elizabeth, aged 13 in 1710
Isabell, aged 4, in 1710.
