Whooping Cough and Pneumonia Result in Death of 5 Year Old
A serious attack of whooping cough that resulted in pneumonia snuffed out the life of Patty Elaine Sprague last Friday. Funeral services were held at the Crystal Plains church Sunday, conducted by the Rev. A. E. Lathrop of Loveland, Colo., assisted by the Rev. Ernest Crown. The little body was laid to rest in the Crystal Plains cemetery.
Obituary
Patty Elaine was born in Smith County, Kansas, October 15, 1929, and departed this life June 1, 1934, aged four years, seven months and seventeen days.
Little Patty was stricken with whooping cough four weeks before her death, which developed into pneumonia. All was done that loving hands, doctors and nurse could do, but God willed to take the little one home.
She was such a sweet little flower to bud on earth and to bloom in heaven. She was loved by all her friends, her relatives and neighbors. She was her mother's little jewel and her daddy's little treasure-always with him, and he always had time to play with, and entertain the little loved one. She leaves to mourn her departure, father, mother, two little sisters, Phyllis and Avis Lee, one grandmother, thirteen aunts and uncles and other relatives and many friends and neighbors.
The little life with such a short stay was counted blessed, and our lives shall be made better in cherishing such sweet memories of little Patty.

Death of Little Girl
Failed to Survive Whooping Cough and Pneumonia
Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Sprague of Crystal Plains township are in the dark hours of bereavement, loss and sorrow over the death last Friday of their little daughter, Patty, who was the joy of their home. All that the loving hands of parents, doctors, and nurses could do was done to save her, but God willed to take her home.
She was such a sweet little flower to bud on earth and to bloom in heaven.
The little life with such a short stay was counted blessed and our lives shall be made better in cherishing such sweet memories of little Patty.
