Ruby Marie Casto, age 87, of Springdale passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale after a short illness. She was born in Una, Arkansas on August 18, 1923 to Albert Finley Mathis and Stacey Belle (Phillips) Mathis. She married Felix David Casto on November 27, 1943.
One of Ruby's greatest pleasures was spending time with her family and their friends. She quickly became lovingly known as "Granny" to all who crossed her path. She was a long time employee of Neal's Café, working until she was 80 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Velma Casto and one daughter, Louise Nelson.
Ruby is survived by one son, Larry Casto and wife Kay of Lowell; one daughter, Laverne Neal and husband Don of Springdale; nine grandchildren, Steve Nelson, Patti Tidwell and husband Rick, Tammy Clines and husband Frank, all of Rogers, David Nelson of Magnolia, Deann Bradley and husband Dean, Micah Neal, Rachel Henry and husband Moe, all of Springdale, Tim Neal and wife Rhonda of Rogers and Bekah Whiteley and husband Cale of Elkins; and 26 great grandchildren.
Services for Ruby Casto will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Leroy Muncy officiating. Visitation will be 5:00—7:00 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Trace Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Nelson, David Nelson, Dean Bradley, Micah Neal, Tim Neal, Moe Henry, Cale Whiteley and Gene Casto.
