Katharine met Gottlieb Brucker in 1858 and they were married in Peoria, IL on Dec. 25, 1858. They spent the first four years in Congerville, IL then moved to Peoria, IL and then to Morton, IL in 1864. In 1866 with their four children, they moved to to the vicinity of Cropsey, IL to a house that had just two rooms. They bought the homestead and 240 acres for $15.00 an acre. Seven more children were born while living in Cropsey. They lived here until 1900, then moved one mile east of Cropsey where they lived until 1906 when they moved to Cropsey and lived for their remaining days. They were married for 49 1/2 years.
Her headstone says Katharina, but all family records call her Katharine.
