William Archie Cameron, 62, 1119 1/2 South Church Street, an independent carpenter contractor during the 14 years he resided in Rockford, died suddenly at 3:30 a.m. today at his home. Born in Wauseon, Ohio Aug. 21, 1879, he had resided in Beloit, Wis., for 16 years before moving here. Mrs. Cameron awakened this morning to find her husband dead. County coroner David Klontz scheduled an autopsy for today, but said death was apparently due to natural causes. If the autopsy confirms that, Klontz said, no inquest will be held.
Mr. Cameron leaves his wife, the former Bertha Roser, whom he married in Belvidere in 1933; six children in previous marriages, Cecil of Detroit, Lyle R., a marine stationed aboard the U.S.S. Mississippi at New York City, Mrs. Joseph Wysocki of Detroit, and Mrs. A. I. Koch, Mrs. Ellsworth Wright, and Mrs. Everett Peterson all of Rockford, a sister, Mrs. Edward Russell of Morenci, Mich; a brother, Ed, of Wauseon; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral home arrangements are being completed at a funeral home at 113 South Winnebago street.
