Letha Ellen Livingston, age 96, Mauston, passed away June 4, 2011, near her daughter's home in Calabasas, Calif., after a fall which broke her arm.

She was born in Cuba City, on April 18, 1915, to James and Clara Egan.

Graduating from Cuba City High School and Bayless Business College in Dubuque, Iowa, she became a legal secretary and worked in Platteville, where she met and married Charles Myron Livingston on Oct. 20, 1939. In her later years she worked for Leer Manufacturing in New Lisbon, as secretary to the president.

She was a member of Mauston United Methodist Church, Lemonweir Chapter 158 Order of Eastern Star. In California she attended Senior Concerns activity programs. Known as the "Hat Lady" she loved dancing and doing crafts. Her family was the most important aspect of her life as she and her husband of 65 years traveled the globe while son, Robert and family were living and working in different foreign countries mainly Switzerland and Japan. Traveling to Europe, Ireland, England, Germany, France, Italy, Scotland, Denmark, Japan, Hawaii, Australia, and New Zealand were joys of her life.

She celebrated her 95th birthday in Hawaii, as well during this past January's family vacation. She moved to California, on and off to be with her daughter since her husband passed away in 2004.

Survivors include daughter, Mary Ellen Graham of Calabasas, Calif.; grandchildren, Michele (Ted) Cutler of Livermore, Colo., Ryan Livingston of Seattle, Wash., Whitney Livingston of Washington D.C., and daughter-in-law, Susan Livingston of Shaker Heights Ohio; a brother,

Glen (Esther) Egan of Cuba City; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Livingston; parents; brothers, Merrill and George Burnell Egan; sister, Helen (Max) Hume; son-in-law, Lloyd Graham; and son, Robert C. Livingston (1997)

Funeral services will be held at the MAUSTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at 1 p.m. Visitation will be at the church from noon until 1 p.m. Burial will be at Mauston Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Church Fellowship Hall.
