Etta May Troxell, 82, of 111 High Street, Funkstown, died Friday morning at the Washington County Hospital after a long illness.

She was the daughter of the late George and Carrie French, and the widow of William R. Troxell. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a gold star mother of Dixon-Troxell, Post 211, American Legion, a member of the auxillary of the Dixon-Troxell Post and auxillary of the Funkstown Fire Company.

She leaves the following daughters, Mrs. Pauline Ridgely, Mrs. Genevieve Price, Mrs. Mildred Wright, Mrs. Beatrice Showe, Mrs. Janet Hankey; sons William E. Troxell Paul F. Troxell, Donald E. Troxell; sisters Buelah Lizer, Ada Smallwood,Ruth Mummert, Alice Miller, Catherine Palmer, 21 grandchildren and 38 gtreat-grandchildren.

The body was removed to Rest Haven Funeral Chapel where friends may call. Funeral services there Monday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Donald C. Brake officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
