Mrs. Robert Dixon, 50, of 6015 S Sheridan Dr, Muskegon, a former resident of Buckley, died April 13 in Osteopathic hospital in Muskegon following a year's illness.
Mabel Sheriff [sic] was born December 14, 1911, in Honor and following her marriage resided many years in Buckley. For the past six years she had made her home in Muskegon. She worked as a press operator at Bensley's during her stay at Buckley.
Mabel married James Melburn Bower, the son of Clarence J. Bower and Lillian Raines on October 1, 1939 in Frankfort, Benzie County, Michigan. Following the death of her first husband, she married Robert Dixon of Buckley on March 3, 1951.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Clarence Bower of Holland, George Bower of Traverse City, Robert Bower of Muskegon; three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Sara) Dixon of Muskegon, Mary Bower of Coldwater, Elizabeth Bower of Azla, California; four brothers, Forrest, Harold, Lloyd and Gerald Sheriff, all of Muskegon; three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Brunson, Mrs. Alva Boatz [Elva Baatz], all of Muskegon; eight grandchildren, and many other relatives.
Services were held at the Crock funeral home in Muskegon with Rev. David Anderson officiating. Interment was in Fruitport cemetery.
