His father is believed to be a John Hicks, the only source this name came from was from a sister, Frances "Fannie" Hicks marriage index which named John and Nellie as parents, the father was stated to be deceased, the marriage year for Fannie was 1913. His mother is believed to be Frances "Nellie" Hicks. A fellow contributor, Wayne Aiken(49165462) wrote that he believes the father is "Tom" or "Thomas", that he was listed on a marriage index, waiting for him to reply back and supply that index to consider.
Charles was married most likely three times, the first was to a Geneva "Neva" Hill on 2 Jan 1914 with one known child, a Clifford Lewis Hicks (1915-1915), the 2nd marriage was to a Mattie Miller on 8 Sep 1923,they had two known children, Grover C. Hicks (1923-1923) and Charles Cleveland Hicks Jr (1929-2004). The 3rd marriage was on 23 Dec 1933 to Blanche Kindley Childress, no known children in this marriage.
