Mrs. Jane Hankins of New Market died at her home Friday, July 3, lacking but a few days of being 86 years old.
Mrs. Hankins was a sister of Samuel Weininger, an old settler of Mason township, and came to the county with her husband in 1854, settling in the county north of the present town of New Market, where they lived a short time, moving to the farm in Mason township, where they lived until the death of her husband, since which time she has boarded with a son.

The funeral services were held [--]day in the Methodist Episcopal Church, New Market, and interment took place in the Old Memory Cemetery.

Elizabeth Jane (Wineinger) Hankins (14.6.11) is the daughter of George Washington Wineinger, Sr. and Margery (Pace) Wineinger. Parents both buried in Robinson - Pace Cemetery Dubois County, Indiana.
Elizabeth Jane Wineinger was born on July 11, 1828 in Hawkins County, Tennessee. On June 29, 1846 Elizabeth Jane Wineinger married Abraham Hankins. Abraham Hankins was born in Indiana and is the son of David and Rachel Hankins.
In 1860, Abraham and Elizabeth Jane (Wineinger) Hankins were living in Taylor County, Iowa. They were the parents of at least eight children:
1)George W. Hankins b. 1848 in Indiana
2) Samuel Hankins b. Oct. 30, 1848 Indiana (14.6.11.2)
3) Margery Hankins born 1851 in Indiana
4) Harrison B. Hankins born 1854 in Iowa. Grandfather of Sylvia Pearl (Hankins) Taylor married to Lloyd Avery Taylor burial for both in Dallas Center Cemetery New Market, Taylor County, Iowa U.S.A. Samuel (Sam) B. Hankins was Harrison B. Hankins son and Sylvia P. (Hankins) Taylor's father Sam B. Hankins was married to Mary (Warner) Hankins born in Virginia. Lloyd Avery and Sylvia Pearl (Hankins) Taylor were the parents of Norma Jean (Taylor) Tull also buried at Dallas Center Cemetery and Norma was my mother I am Sandra Lea Graham.
5) Rachel Hankins born 1856 in Iowa.
6) William Hankins born 1858 in Iowa
7) David L. Hankins born 1860 in Iowa.
8) Vera (Hankins) Fawks born in Iowa married to Mr. Fawks and lived in Odell, Nebraska.
