Dewey Clayton Guy: Step Father


Mary Margaret "Sissy" Forrester Clawson, 44, Poga Road, Butler, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. Ms. Clawson was the daughter of the late John Thomas Forrester and Louie Dean Stout Guy. She was born in Kennett Square, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Dewey Clayton Guy. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.


She is survived by two daughters, Ashley Guy and her husband, Troy, Amber Harris and her husband, Travis, all of Butler; four granddaughters, Bethany Guy, Abby Guy, Marissa Harris, Miranda Harris, all of Butler; three sisters, Elizabeth Crump and her husband, Keith, Granite Falls, NC; Diane Frost and her husband, Will, Elizabethton; Barbara Marlow and her husband, Darrell, Elizabethton; a brother, Richard Forrester, Elizabethton; and a very special friend Bill Fletcher, Boone, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.


The funeral service for Ms. Clawson will be conducted on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton with Pastor Charles Cable and Pastor Donnie Cable officiating. Music will be under the direction of Steve and Katrina Poole. Interment will follow in the Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Avery County, NC.


The family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of all the Intensive Care Units at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital for all the care and support shown to Ms. Clawson and her family.
