E.P. Leonard Dies At 73

Services for Everett Putman Leonard, 73, will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Owens-Brumley Funeral Home chapel. Miss Sarah Culburtson of Ray Memorial Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Leonard died Saturday in a Wichita Falls hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1889, in Augusta, Ga., and had lived here for 15 years. He made his home at 3914 Colquitt.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; two sons, Preston and Willard Leonard, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Katherine Thurman, Utica, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Frances Mayberry, Chicago, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.

The family request that memorials be made to Ray Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Following from contributor #47510724: Everett P. Leonard was enumerated as an 8-month-old son in the home of Samuel and Lucy Leonard on the 1880 U.S. Census of Macon, Georgia. His birth date was given as 16 October 1879 on his U.S. passport application and on his World War I draft card. The passport app also gave his birth place as Macon, Georgia.
