"Mildred D. Rooney, 85, of 45813 Otter St. [USA, NY, Jefferson, Alexandria Bay], died Thursday at her home.

"Mrs. Rooney was a homemaker and for a time was a supervisor at the Presbyterian Home, [USA, NY, Niagara,] Lockport. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Lockport, for more than 50 years.

"Born April 9, 1919, in Wilson, daughter of Leon and Eva Bixby Dean, she graduated from Wilson High School. She was the widow of Charles A. Rooney, who died Jan. 18, 1981.

"Surviving are * * *; * * *; nine grandchildren, 12 grandchildren and a nephew. A brother, Everett Dean, and three sisters, Irma Cavagnaro, Marjorie Post and Alice May Dean, died before her.

"A graveside service will be in Ballston Village Cemetery, Ballston Spa, at the family's convenience. Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Costello Funeral Home."
