US Congressman. Elected to represent North Dakota in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1961 to 1963. Also served as the Member of the North Dakota State House of Representatives from 1949 to 1960, and Speaker of the North Dakota State House of Representatives, in 1959. He died in the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., on July 18, 1963.
