James Stillman Locklin died about eleven o'clock Wednesday [9 July] at Mechanicville where he was taken ill on Sunday with inflammation of the bowels. The deceased was born on Church Avenue, in the house that has ever since been his home, on May 24, 1850.

He has been for many years a member of Eagle Fire Company and was respected and liked
by his associates and many friends. The deceased is survived by two sisters, Misses Helen and Fannie Locklin.
