Hazel Maxine Pitts, 94, of Norman OK, was born on February 25, 1916, in Liberal KS to Floyd and Amanda Louthan. Hazel passed away on January 30, 2011, in Norman.

She graduated from Kismit High School in Kansas. Hazel married her husband of more than 50 years, Francis H. Pitts, and relocated to Bell Flower CA. There he worked for General Motors and she excelled as a mother and homemaker. Hazel moved to Norman OK in 2000.

The Pitts family reunions (held annually at various cities around the United States) were one of her favorite things. She loved spending time with extended family, especially the sisters and brothers-in-law.

Hazel leaves her son Bruce H. Pitts of Norman; grandsons Bruce H. Pitts, Jr., and Eric Brian Pitts of Norman, and Robert and Michael Hughes of California; nine great-grandchildren; sister Doris Butcher of Sacramento CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter Francis Pitts.

Services will be 2 PM, Friday, February 4, 2011, at Norman Community Church of the Nazarene in Norman, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.
