She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Yvonne Wagner and husband Willard of Franklin Springs, GA, Mrs. Shelby Rouse and husband Jimmy of Rose Hill, NC, Mrs. Patsy Hill and Mrs. Peggy Bryan and husband Eddie A., all of Burgaw, two sons, William A. Brown and wife Vernelle of Roanoke, VA and Phelton Lawrence Brown of Burgaw, eighteen grandchildren, Rene Hoxie and husband Brian, Cynthia Hoffmann and husband Raymond and Pamela Morgan and husband David, all of Rose Hill, Stuart Bryan and Amanda Bryan, both of Taylors, SC, Robert D. Hanchey and wife Pam and Andrew Hanchey and wife Ann Marie, all of Wallace, Jay Hanchey and wife Jill of Hanover, MD, Kevin Brown of Roanoke, VA, Donna Ambrosius and husband Dan of Birmingham, AL, Beth Vick and husband Mark of Knightdale, NC, Keith Wagner and wife Lisa of Mexico City, Larry H. Brown, II and wife Betty of Sherrills Ford, NC, Orlando Brown of Mooresville, NC, Dexter Brown and wife Anna of Gastonia, NC, Douglas Brown of Monroe, NC, Elizabeth Wagner and Maria Wagner, both of Franklin Springs, GA, twenty eight great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Born November 7, 1913 in Pender County, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late William Alexandra and Lessie Laura Rivenbark Heath and was a member of Peniel Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. She loved gardening, cooking and canning. She also enjoyed reading the King James Version , which she read 77 times. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Landford Brown, one son, Larry Hildren Brown, Sr., one sister, Ruth Heath, two brothers, Carl Heath and Roy Heath, one granddaughter, Elizabeth Brown and one great granddaughter, Jessica Sueann Hanchey.
Casketbearers will be Ray Hoffman, David Morgan, Jay Hanchey, Robin Hanchey and Andrew Hanchey.
Visitation was held at the home of Mrs. Brown in Willard on Friday June 10, 2011 5:00-8:00 PM.
Funeral was Saturday June 11, 2011, 11:00 AM at Peniel Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with burial immedatelt following in the church cemetery.
The family received friends at Mrs. Brown's residence in Willard at all other times.
