A.A. Deakins Jr. oldest son of Argil A. Deakins and Blanche Sherfey Deakins ; Argil Jr. married Doris Hardin who is still living in the Deakins home place. AA and Doris were the parents of four sons and three daughters.

Obituary:
A. A. Deakins, Jr., 59, Rt. 2, Jonesboro, a former county court member and Republican Executive Committee member, died Sunday in North Side Hospital following a short illness. Mr Deakins was a former director and was presently serving as a member of the advisory board of First Peoples Bank, Jonesboro. He also was a former director of Dairymen, Inc. and a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he majored in agriculture. He was a native of Washington County and the son of Mrs. Blanche Sherfey Deakins and the late Argil A. Deakins, Sr. He was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and a member of Johnson City BPOE 825. He operated a dairy farm in Sulphur Springs. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Doris Hardin Deakins; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Acidiacono, Rockledge, Fla; and Mrs. Judy Jones of Jonesboro; three sons, Argil A. III, Richard, and David all of Jonesboro; his mother, Mrs. Blanche Deakins; two brothers, John B. Sr. and Clarence, both of Jonesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Britton and Mrs. Joe R. McCrary both of Washington County; three grandchildren. Dillow Taylor was in charge.
