Claud Burton Dies After InJury


FUNERAL SERVICES

Funeral services held for Claud L. Barton in the Tropic Ward with Bishop James S. Munson in charge, and Malen Mecham conducting.


Mr. Barton, an employee of the Country, died while operating a large road machine, Dec. 28th on the Henrieville Road. He had been employed by the County for several years as a road patroI machine operator. He lived In Tropic most of his life and the time of his death was an active member of the community.


He was born in Circleville September 10, 1900, a son of Levi O. and Amy Davis Barton. He married Elisabeth Mecham of Tropic and was the father of seven children, six of them survive him. His oldest son, Leon, was killed In World War II.


Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Mecham Barton, his father, Levi O. Barton, both Tropic; two sons, Loral J. Ogden and Delyle serving on a LDS mission in Holland; four daughters, Mrs. Florlene Barney of Hatch, Miss Fonnetta Barton, Miss Doreen Barton and Miss Margene Barton, of Tropic. Three brothers and a sister, Leo L. Barton of St. George, Owen K. Barton of McGill, Nevada, Arlo Barton of Tropic, and Mrs. Ada Sudweeks of Tropic. Four grandchildren also survive.
