OBITUARY:
E. B. Jackson
Funeral services for Edward B. Jackson, 67, of 4029 Markins, will be at 4 p.m. today at Dunne-Langham Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Seaside Memorial Park after Masonic graveside services by Independence Lodge 1337, AF&AM. Jackson, a general contractor here, died yesterday in a local hospital after a long illness. A native of Omaha, Neb., he moved here in 1926 from Waco, where he was in building contracting business. Jackson was active in the building business here until 1958, when he suffered injuries in a car wreck. He built a number of schools here and was one of the first builders in Del Mar Addition. He also put up office buildings on Leopard Street. Jackson was a charter member and first president of the South Texas Chapter of Associated General Contractors. He served on the board of directors several terms and was chairman of the labor committee a number of years. Jackson was a member of First Christian Church, the George N. Denton Masonic Lodge of Waco, San Antonio Consistory and Alzafar Temple. He is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Edward Bell of Glendale, Calif., and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be F. H. de Cordova, R. S. Black, N. V. Williams, E. J. Wendt, W. B. Duran Jr. and Dave Dunten.
