Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. (E.S.T.) today (Friday) [Feb. 8, 1963] at the Foster-Jones Funeral Home for Clem Beard, 83, a retired farmer, who died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Davenport in Greensburg. Rev. V. A. Jones and Rev. Charles Hulse will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Coffey Cemetery. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Marshall Paxton, Mrs. K. K. McGinnis, Greensburg, and Mrs. T. G. Tucker, Summersville; five sons, Robert Beard, Louisville, Guy Beard, and Lucian Beard, Blooming, Ill., Able Beard, and Clem Taylor Beard, Greensburg; a brother Cash Beard, Adair County; and two half brothers, George Beard, Adair County, and Charlie Beard, Adair County; one sister, Mrs. Leddie Keltner, Adair County; 21 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
