Jeffrey S. Baker, age 37, died at his home in Grove City on Friday morning, August 4, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastors Tim Hansen and Harvey Nelson and Father Paul Schumacher officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday, August 7, 2006 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will take place at a later date.
Jeffrey Scott Baker, the son of Larry and Mary Anne Sogge Baker, was born on October 17, 1968 in Litchfield. He grew up and received his education in Litchfield. After high school Jeff worked at various places before going to work for Midwest Metals in Grove City as a welder. On July 14, 1998 he was united in marriage to Lori Midtling in Rapid City South Dakota. They made their home in Grove City. Jeff will be remembered as a generous person who enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish with his son Skyler, hunting and hiking. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
Jeff is survived by his wife Lori of Grove City, sons; Joshua of Chicago and Skyler of Grove City, parents; Larry and Mary Anne Baker of Litchfield, sister Cindy Baker and fiance Lonnie Kohls of Hutchinson grandparents Jerry and Anne Sogge of Sauk Centre. He is also survived by his in-laws; Bradley and Clarice Midtling of Litchfield, Brothers-in-law Brian and Sharon Midtling of Brownton and Kevin and Kris Midtling of Litchfield, Grandmother-in-law Alice Greely. Many nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles and other relatives and friends survive him as well. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Milton O. and Leone Baker.
