OLD SETTLER DEAD.
Aged Pioneer of This Section Answers Final Call
Henry Christian answered the final call at his home in this village on Friday evening Sept 22nd after a long illness of cancer of the stomach. For the past seven months he has been confined to his bed and suffered greatly until death relieved him of his pains.
Deceased was born at Ironton, Ohio on June 22, 1838 and lived there until he was about 23 years of age when he came to this vicinity and made his home south of town on a farm. He has lived here ever since. Deceased was married in 1860 to Miss Mary Lunsford who survives him. Five children survive: Mrs. Alice Morris, of Missouri, Harry Christian of Le Sueur, Mrs. F. W. Van Nort of Big Falls, Minn., Lafe Christian of Washington, and Linzay Christian of this village.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon from the Baptist church, Rev. Caldwell officiating. Interment was made in the local cemetery.

The sexton confirmed that Henry J. Christian and his wife Mary Jane (Lunsford) Christian are buried here, at Dassel Cemetery, in unmarked graves.
