Newton a. Burnside, 78, of Wichita Falls, died in a nursing home in that city Friday, March 1, after being seriously ill about a year. He was a retired railroad employee and the father of Mrs. Jack Sanford of Wellington.
A long time Wichita Falls resident, he retired about seven years ago.
Active in the work of the First Christian Church in Wichita Falls, Mrs. Burnside was secretary of his Sunday School class.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Erma Burnside; three daughters: Mrs. Harold D. Johnson of Wichita Falls; Mrs. Sanford; and Mrs. Charles Armistead of Moss Point, MS; a sister, Mrs. Vonnie Thomas of Marshall; and two brothers, A. B.
Burnside of Azle and Erie Burnside of Sulphur, OK.
