Menervia Jane Bales, 88, had lived in Wichita Falls for many years. She moved to Odessa in 1957. She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.

Survived by three sons - C.A. Bales, Edward Bales; two daughters - Mrs. T.B. King, Mrs. Della Cloyd; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren.

They married 04 Sep 1870 Independence County, Arkansas. Nancy married second husband on 22 Aug 1888 ind County Arkansas then Nancy Jane Clark dies in 1895.
Her mother second husband was Richard Baxter . Marcus Scribner is the son of George Washington Scribner 1822-1901 , Scribner Mills in Tennessee his mother was Jane Matilda "Manteka" Hiland 1825-1893 "Indian" Menervia had sister Eliza B Scribner B Aug 1880 and died with her father 1887-8 . Menervia Scribner and Sylvester Bales married 13 Sep 1895 in Independence County, Arkansas and then moved to Texas.
