Martin L. Thompson, Sr., of Juniata Township, Huntingdon R.D.3 died at 7:15 p.m. Friday, December 2, 1966 in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for ten years and a hospital patient since Saturday, November 26. Born July 5, 1903 in Juniata Township, Huntingdon County, he was a son of William and Laura (Crownover) Thompson. He married Martha E. Hearn on March 3, 1924 in Cumberland, Md. His wife survives along with three sons and one daughter: Martin L. Thompson, Jr., Huntingdon; Richard E. Thompson, Alexandria; Robert M. Thompson, Huntingdon; Mrs. Roy (Barbara Ann) Morningstar, Hesston R.D. and 12 grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and two sisters: William Thompson, Huntingdon R.D.3; Mrs. Berley (Alma) Parks, Huntingdon R.D.3; and Mrs. Blanche Hearn, York. He was of the Protestant faith and had been a life member of hte NO. 2 Fire Company of Huntingdon. Employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation of Huntingdon since 1943, he retired due to failing health in June, 1963. His entire life was spent in the Huntingdon area. Interment will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon R.D.1.
