FATHER OF MRS. CATHERINE QUEEN DIES AT LOOGOOTEE

The funeral of Richard Greenwell, who was the father of Mrs. Catherine Queen of Washington, was held from St. John's Catholic church at Loogootee Monday. The Loogootee Sentinel gives the following account of this death:

Richard Greenwell, a well known and highly respected citizen of this city, succumbed rather sadden and unexpectedly Thursday night at 10:30 o'clock at his home in the east part of the city, death resultant from heart disease. While Mr. Greenwell had not been feeling well for a few days, his illness was not generally known. Several years ago Mr. Greenwell suffered an injury to his shoulder and side, which had given him much trouble at times since then and is believed to have led to the illness causing his death. He was able to follow [illegible] ployment at the Graham Glass works up to the close of the week previous to his passing.

He was born in Union county, Kentucky, sixty-two years ago December and was a son of the late William Greenwell, who died on a farm near St. Mary's church. The family moved to Daviess county when Richard was nine years old and made his home in that county until about fifteen years ago when he [illegible] to this city to live.

Mr. Greenwell married Miss Deborah White, of Reeves township, who survives him. He leaves the following children: Mrs. Daniel Carrico, Barr township, Mrs. Susie Burris, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mrs. Catherine Queen, Washington; John, at home; Leo and Matthew, Evansville; Joseph and Ellen, at home.

Mr. Greenwell was a devout Catholic and was a member of the holy Name society of St. Johns church. He was a splendid citizen and was held in high regard by all who knew him.
