Mrs. Gordon died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at home.
She was born May 30, 1929, in Benld, Ill., the daughter of Lea Davis and Marie McGill Davis. She married Charles Gordon in November 1947 in Pekin.
She was a warehouse worker at Long Manufacturing for eight years. She later worked at Jaydon in Milan, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1303, Rock Island, and was on the color guard for 10 years.
She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and enjoyed bingo.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Gordon Sr.; a daughter, Kathleen Merchant, Sulligent, Ala.; sons, Charles Jr., Rock Island, and Walter Lee, Davenport; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Davis, of California, and nieces and nephews.
